Kailash is known as residence of Mahadev Shiva.There are seven Kailash Yatras to the places associated with Lord Shiva as per the Hindu scriptures. The main is Kailash Mansarovar in Tibet. The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is known as one of the toughest religious pilgrimage centers in the world.Other Three in Himachal Pradesh are Mani Mahesh in Chamba District,Kinnaur Kailash in Kinnaur and Shri Khand Kailash at border of Shimla,Mandi and Kullu Districts.And Other two which are Addi Kailash in Pithoragarh district Rajasthan and Shri Kailash near Gangotri in Uttranchal.Not Many known as Seventh Kailash in Sri Lanka known as southren kailash in Katragama.

Shri Khand Kailash

Shri Khand Kailash Yatra started in Sawan Month according to Hindu Sanwat i.e. Mid July to Mid August organised by Shri Khand Vikas Samiti(H.o.Bagipul,Teh Nirmand,Kullu(H.P.).Main yatra i.e. also called as Chadi yatra starts on First day of Sawan month becuase Sawan is Shiva's lovely month.First day of Sawana comes on 15th or 16th July every year.But people start going from Begining of July.

HISTORY:- According to myth there was a Rakshasha named Bhasmasur who make Lord Shiva happy by his fast and took words from Shiva Maharaj that every person will convert to ash on whoes head Bhasmasur put his hand.Due to Shivas Vardan Bhasmasur Start to make people fear and start killing them.He also took Swarg from Devraj Inder and through him out with all other devtas.

Once Bhasmasur saw Devi Parwati and want to marry with her.When he come to know that Maa Parwati is wife of Lord Shiva he start thinking to wash Lord shiva from his way to Parvati.He ran after Shiva to kill him and convert to ash.At this time Shiva cannot kill because bhasmasur was his Bhakt.So He start running away from him.Accroding to Myth at Devthank(near Nirmand)Shiva enters in a Cave and make a hole to earth from the cave and put his head out from this hole.Shri Khand is the place where Shiva out his head to see Bhasmasur.Then Shiva request to Lord vishnu to Help .Vishnu converted himself to maa parwati and ask bhasmasur to dance with him.At time of dancing Lord Vishnu keep his hand on his own head same is followed by bhasmasur and converted to ash.The place where Bhasmasur died called as Khoninala.which comes about 8 Km away from Shri Khand.

Yatra:- From any corner of India need to come Rampur first i.e. in Shimla district also known as ancient capital and current consituency of Raja Virbhadra Singh present CM.From Rampur use a local convience like bus or taxi to go Jau or Bagipul first then to Jaon Village.Jaon village is last on road point for this place.From Village Jaon start padestrian journey 

for 32 KM one way and 32 Km return.It will go through little spots or camps which are situated at Singarh,Baratinala,Thachru,Kali ghati,Bhim Talai,Bhim Dwar(Bhim Cave),Parvati Bagh etc.These camps are arranged by Shri Khand Vikas Samiti with the help of local personalities.These tents will provide you food,water,night stay,tea,other bevregies etc.

Places on The Way from Shimla:
1.Rampur: Rampur is Tehsil of District Shimla and 140 KM from Shimla.It is a small town where Raja Virbhader Singh(Present Cheif Minister) belongs.It is the bank of Satluj and a lovely place to see.
2.Nirmand: When you take bus from Rampur to Bagipul or Jaon a small town named Nirmand will on the way.It is Tehsil of Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh.It is also a lovely place.
3.Bagipul: Bagipul is also of Headoffice of Shri Khand Vikas Samiti and last on main road station.It is small town of 1000 approx people.It is on the bank of small river.
4.Jaon: Jaon is base point of this track.From here walk-in track will start.Here are guest house,school,ground,Langer facility etc.

5.Singhard: Next station is singhard named on name of Person "Singh".Also a statue of Shiv ji is there i.e.in the pic

There was a person named Singh in this village in ancient times.and he protect the people of this village or surroundings from Wild animal and bad souls.This myth mentioned on the sign board at this place.During yatra here need to register your self against registration officer appointed by Tehsildar.Also available free Langer and tent service here.Here Dandi Dhar will start.Dandi dhar is first track of 9 Km approximate perpendicular to earth.

6.Barotinala: Barotinala is next small spot during the yatra.This place is full with trees of "Bras" and "Devdaar" and also a small river is flowing over here.Here you will find a langer organised by public committee and a small temple of Maa Kali and Bholenath.From here forest will more dark with trees.

7.Thachru: Thachru is 5 Km from Baratinala and you will found a number tents over there.Where pilgrims can stay in night and took a break for night.There will provided blankets,food,water,tea,biscuits,snacks etc.by localities appointed or licensed by Vikas Smiti or Tehsildar.

8.Kali Ghati: Kali Ghati is top of Dandi dhar and just 3 Km from Thachru.It called Kali Ghati due to some special black colored plants available here.Also another reason is Kali Maa sthan here.The scene of surrounding is very very impresive from here you will fill like above the world in heaven.

9.Bheem Talai: Bheem Talai is at feet of kali ghati.It is 1/2 hour away from Kali Ghati.It is called that Talab here are made by Bheemsen.There was two talab with diameter of 60-70 feet.But you can see only one now.

10.Bheem Dwari(Bheem Cave): Bheem Dwari or Bheem Cave is place where a cave made by Bheem sen is available.Here bheem took rest at time of Agyatvas of Pandva.This place is approximate 8-10 Km from Kali Ghati.

11.Parvati Bhag: Parvati Baag is 2 Km from Bheem Dwari.Here are two natural water fountaions called Parvati Jharna folowing from left and right side of Parvati Baag.Parvati baag is area in 2-3 KM sorrounding with special type of grass having colorful flowers.Which make it like Park on this Peak.Here are last camp of Shri Khan Yatra

It is very beautiful Ghati like Heaven on earth.I will not recommend to continue yatra after 3 PM due to possibilities of bad weather conditions.

12.Nain Srover: Nain Srover is next diamond place in this yatra.It is just 2 Km from Parvati Baag.It is like a very big water pot of radius of 1 KM.In snow it is like cricket stadium full with snow.It is being called when Bhasmasur was behind Shivji and he hide himself in cave parvati maa cames here in search of Shiv JI Maharaj and here drops some water from her eyes.It surrounded by Peaks full of snow from 3 sided.

   

13.Bheem Banahiya: This place is 4 Km from Nain Srovar and second last place.Here are some special type of Gaint stones having something unknown written on them.It is in sign language of ancient time.It is being called that Bheema having words that he can made stairs to Heaven in one night.He was making stairs here but morning came and work need to stop as it was.Now these stones are evidence of that incident.

14.Shri Khand Mahadev: Now after this patience and hard work you will see your destination in front of your eyes i.e.Shri Khand mahadev after 1 Km way from Bheem Bhaiya.This 1 KM is most diffcult portion of this track having way over gaaint stones and glaciour of approximate 500 mtrs.

When you see from the same as in picture forgot all your journey and problems that faced by you.This is the scene of The Great Heaven of Lord SHIVA.Now you will cross this glacier and move up the stairs then see like below

Some Things to be with you: You should have Tourch,Blanket,Glucose,Important Medicines,Warm Cloths,Raincoat or Umbrella with own.

Points to be in mind: 

1. Walk slowly as you can at your own.
2. Do not have heavy luggage.
3. Take proper rest dont run behind others.
4. Don't feel that you cannot go so high.Be confident.
5. When walking don't just sit in the way only take rest standing.
6. Have faith on Bholenath.Becuase he called you from your houses he will with you till complition of this Yatra.
7. Have Shiv name on your tounge every time during this Yatra.
